Outturn December 2019

GATHER IN HAPPINESS

Another year is coming to an end and the last outturn issue of 2019 has been published. Before you get started, I would like to say that I hope you enjoy reading through it. Here are a couple of my highlights:

In January, Robin Laing will be visiting us again and we will be organising two Burns suppers. One will be held in Bern and the other in Erlinsbach. Enjoy a Scottish evening accompanied by what is probably one of the most exciting selections of whiskies that you are likely to find. Trying haggis is not compulsory to attend the event and there will, of course, be alternatives available at both events (just let me know when you book).

After we were only able to serve a couple of bottles from distillery 33 for tasting in September, we will now receive thirty bottles from cask 33.138: A thigh-slapping dram, which will be available for sale. Due to the level of demand for bottles from this distillery, there will definitely not be enough for everyone. Therefore, we will be drawing lots. Should you be interested in buying a bottle, send us an email. All names that we receive by 14 December 2019 will be included in the draw, from which we will pick the 30 lucky members who can purchase one bottle. Shipping will then take place in calendar week 51 so that the bottle is delivered in time for Christmas.

And, finally, we have received the next four bottlings from the Vaults Collection for this year. These are all between 29 and 34 years old and are some of the Society’s most exclusive bottles.

I will still see many of you at tastings before the end of the year and I would like to wish everyone else a lovely and peaceful Advent now and I look forward to enjoying wonderful drams and gatherings in 2020.

Warmest wishes

Patric Lutz
